Our son has thoroughly enjoyed his sessions with Rocco. He has looked forward to working with Rocco every week and talks about his experience positively. He can struggle with anxiety and low self esteem. These sessions have given him a sense of purpose in addition to developing some important life skills. Mr Dewes has been excellent with providing feedback from our son's sessions and built up a good relationship with him. This is so important for him and proves the power of animal intervention. I hope this trial will result in Rocco becoming a permanent assistance dog as I believe he will be a great asset to the school.
Our daughter has really enjoyed training Rocco and she has benefited from spending 1-2-1 time with Mr Dewes. It's allowed her to build her confidence and her communication skills plus to be patient when teaching Rocco new activities. It is clear that an awful lot of time has been taken to develop this programme and Mr Dewes tailored the different streams according to her needs. From viewing the presentation, this is a programme that could be used to help a lot of children with different issues.
Mr Dewes sent me feedback and photos each week to let me know how she was doing and it was great to receive this and then talk about the session with her. It was lovely to attend the last session and see them put their hard work into practice
